About
Lan Sizhui is a 21 year old Biomedical Engineering Student.
He lives with his cat “Dorian”, his adopted father Lan Wangji (and his two rabbits) in a large town house. The property itself sits within an exclusive gated community.
Sizhui is able to navigate social interactions with ease, adapting his approach depending on the person he is conversing with.
Though respectful and hardworking he is prone to bouts of sarcasm (around those he is comfortable with) and has a wicked sense of humour.
His adopted father assumes such traits are a result of a certain someone having a hand in his upbringing - Sizhui agrees, though has observed his father being rather cutting with words on occasion too.
He spends most of his time studying or with Lan Jingyi (unfortunately the other seems to have had repeated run ins with the police of late, Sizhui of course having to bail him out)
The two also spend time with Jin Ling, the slightly bratty heir to the Jinlintai Entertainment Company.
Trivia
• He has a Russian Blue Short hair named “Dorian” after the novel “Dorian Grey”. His fathers rabbits ignore the cat for the most part, though he has on occasion tried to cuddle with them.
• Sizhui enjoys photography and is the captain of his University Archery team.
• His birth family were killed in a car accident on the way back from an industry event. Because of his young age he could not attend and so was not in the car at the time.
• Like his father he dislikes excessively spicy food. His friend Jin Ling has a slightly more impressive tolerance and once tricked Lan Jingyi into biting a ghost pepper!
• Unlike his father he seems to have an above average alcohol tolerance (the plus points in not being a Lan by blood one could argue!)
• When he was younger Wei Wuxian buried him in their garden whilst babysitting. He has a vague recollection of this but what he can’t remember is no doubt saved somewhere in picture form.
• Although he is studying biomedical engineering like his adopted father this was not something he was pushed into. From a young age he had an interest in both science and physics so he sees his career path as a natural fit.
• His birth family were known for their health reforms. Sizhui hopes one day to create a new advance in medical engineering that will change lives in the same way.
• As a child he would often follow his father and Wei Wuxian around like a little duckling, calling the latter of the two his “Xian - Gege”. As expected Wei Ying found this hilarious and continues to mock him to this day.
• He inhabits the entire top floor of his father’s large townhouse, with his own bedroom, bathroom, study and lounge area. There is a small kitchen too (though because of his adopted fathers busy work schedule and tendency to often be out of the country on business trips he tries to eat with him whenever he is able.)
• His best friends are Lan Jingyi and Jin Ling. It is unknown what his exact relationship status is but rumors seem to indicate he has been dating Lan Jingyi for some time.
• Sizhui is polite, though can be sarcastic on occasion. He is able to voice his opinions with confidence and conviction and does not tolerate cruel or unfair treatment to those he cares about.
• Like his father he is able to play the Guqin. Though not a common instrument among his peers he liked the idea of continuing family tradition (As someone who had been adopted into the Lan family he felt it was important for him to show his gratitude and respect.)
• His favourite person is Lan Jingyi. Though from the outside they might seem to be very different they have a close bond. Even calling the other his "happy place". Sometimes he needs to relax and take life less seriously, something the other is well versed in.
• He enjoys watching his uncle Lan Xichen work. They try to meet up regularly for dinner but if the other is weighed down with deadlines and he is invited, he happily goes to the studio to watch (and brings takeaway for the two of them to eat)
• Once on a dare he kissed Jin Ling. That same evening he also stood on his head (yes, A KEG STAND!!)
• He has a star tattoo (his favourite shape) on one of his fingers and his ears pierced.
